(Doctor of Chiropractic)
BSc (hons) chiropractic D.C GCC 01847
I graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC) at the University of Glamorgan in 2002 after studying a full time 4 year degree, with a first class honours degree in Chiropractic.
I spent some time following graduation volunteering on the chiropractic overseas relief project on the island of Nueva Gerona off Cuba then returned to work in Nottingham before setting permanently in Sheffield.
I have many years of clinical experience and utilise diversified, activator and SOT (Sacro-Occipital Technique) techniques in my practice. I work with newborn babies, elderly people and everybody in between. Using a variety of techniques, I tailor the treatment programme specifically to suit the individual client and will always advise suitable exercises and lifestyle adjustments to support the healing process.
Having recovered from a chronic vestibular issue, I have a vast understanding and empathy for chronic pain and chronic illness and utilise many techniques to support the nervous system to enable a better healing environment.
I have undertaken extensive postgraduate training in antenatal care, postnatal care and paediatrics. I also completed Doula training with Nurturing Birth and have attended several deliveries as a birthing support partner. I have recently completed a six-month course on functional neurology to improve my understanding and management of neuro diverse conditions.
I am registered with the UCA (United Chiropractic Association) and the GCC (General Chiropractic Council). As such, in order to retain the registration, I complete 30 hours of Continued Professional Development (CPD) per year in order to keep up to date with the latest advancements in research and treatment techniques.
I work closely with and receive referrals from local yoga teachers, personal trainers, GP’s and health professionals. Working with the patient and their fitness or health instructor to get the best outcomes for my clients and ensure that the treatment provided is compatible with the regime they are undertaking.
My initial consultations are approx. 1 hr and follow-up appointments are typically 15 mins, with an option for a 30-minute extended appointment if necessary.
I live in Sheffield with my family. If I’m not in the clinic adjusting spines I will be running (slowly), doing Pilates or enjoying my allotment.
Kate has been utterly brilliant. She listens and understands my issues. She has given me a clear plan to get better and encourages me every step of the way. She’s a true healer in the broad sense of the word.
